Orange City Public Library Responds to Complaint about Book with LGBTQ Content Days after Culture Warrior Burned Other Gay Books

The Orange City Public Library Board met Tuesday following news that a conservative culture warrior had checked out and burned several library books. Paul Dorr of Rescue the Perishing had reviewed the books via Facebook livestream. All of these were children's books and all of them had LGBTQ themes. After reviewing and criticizing them, Dorr tossed the books on a fire.

The Orange City Public Library has been tight-lipped about how it plans to respond to Dorr. Specifically, they haven't indicated if they will press charges. They are just reviewing options. But their board did gather on Tuesday and review the appropriateness of "A Day in the Life of Marlon Bundo" by Marlon Bondo, Jill Twiss, & EG Keller to see if it violated the library's content policy following complaints from several residents -- it didn't.

The Sioux County Conservatives complained afterwards that the public wasn't given the right to comment during this meeting. Interestingly enough, Paul Dorr attended the meeting on Tuesday. He's sitting front and center in the public section in the black and white shirt. Maybe he was hoping to burn the book after the meeting? (Just posing the question...)
