Just over a month ago, the Animal Rescue League of Iowa shared a horrific story about some unknown person who had set a box containing nine kittens on fire in a homeless camp in Des Moines, IA. Unfortunately, nobody has been arrested or charged in connection to this case.
Most of the kittens escaped without serious injury. However, two of them -- Hans and Greta -- were badly injured and required extensive surgery to save their lives. Sadly, Greta died about a week later due to her severe injuries.
But here is some good news: Hans has been adopted! The ARL reports that Hans' health continues to improve and he's now healthy enough to be cared for outside of the shelter. Hans' new person already has a cat and dog in his home. Sadly, both of these animals had also been burned in the past. But that means that Hans' new dad knows how to help him continue to recovery!
Seriously, compare Hans' pic from this blog post and the original post. He looks so much better now.
