I shared recently that
a new season of "Mama June: From Not to Hot" will be airing soon on WeTV. (
Jon's Note: Friday, April 17th, to be exact!) WeTV posted a
"first look" video tonight, which essentially offered a recap of Mama June Shannon's rise, fall, and arrest.
We were then treated to a family gathering of Alana "Honey Boo Boo" Thompson, Lauryn "Pumpkin" Shannon & husband Josh, and Jo "Doe Doe" Shannon & daughter Amber all sit around the house talking about Doe Doe's new teeth and Mama June's legal woes.
Suddenly, the door bursts open and we viewers are treated to a blast from the past: Jessica "Chubbs" Shannon from the old "
Here Comes Honey Boo Boo" series!! We quickly learn that Mama June pawned the title to Chubbs' car, which led to it being repossessed. Because Mama June showered her children with stuff when she wasn't messed up on drugs, and because her kids didn't see the sense of owning their cars outright.

It definitely appears that WeTV is trying making Doe Doe into a new family matriarch,
which is something that I pondered last June when the previous season ended. The first look video has Doe Doe and Amber spending time at a gym alone trying to work out their anger over Mama June's crazy behavior. I had also wondered last spring if WeTV might try bringing back someone like Uncle Poodle. But I will gladly settle for Chubbs if she's gonna stick around for a while!
