"Riverdale" Halts Production Following Coronovirus Scare!

Iowa hasn't been hit overly hard by the coronovirus pandemic -- though most of what's happened in this state has happened here in Iowa City. Which makes sense given that we have the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics here. As of today, there have been 13 presumptive positive cases of COVID-19 throughout Iowa -- 12 of which are here in Iowa City. Most of the colleges and state universities have eliminated face-to-face teaching instruction until mid-April, though at least one campus has shut down classes for the rest of this semester.

But I'm much more interested this evening in news that The CW's "Riverdale" series has suspended production following concerns that one of the show's workers was recently in contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19:

“We are working closely with the appropriate authorities and health agencies in Vancouver to identify and contact all individuals who may have come into direct contact with our team member,” the statement continued. “The health and safety of our employees, casts and crews is always our top priority. We have and will continue to take precautions to protect everyone who works on our productions around the world.

It's unclear how long before production resumes.
