The Freedom March is a series of gatherings across the nation where ex-gay people share their testimony and straight Christians then prop up their stories as reasons why the rest of us queer people should be denied equal rights and rites. The next Freedom March will take place in Boston on April 18, 2020 at Christopher Columbus Park. Ten ex-gay people will share their testimonies and then those assembled will march around downtown Boston.
This is what Phil Robertson has to say about the marching ex-gays:
"According to Jesus Christ, the greatest command in the Bible is to love God with all your heart, mind and strength and to love your neighbor as yourself," Phil says. "We should live by that. I am grateful to all who share their stories from their hearts at the Freedom March."And Kay Robertson:
Mrs. Kay agrees: "I love hearing the stories about God's love and grace. It the greatest blessing on this earth, and heaven will be the greatest gift of all."My hunch is that neither Phil nor Kay care much about the stories about God's love and grace for those LGBTQ folks who've learned how to successfully integrate our sexual orientations and gender identities with our religious identities.
