The Salvation Army Drops Another Video Telling the World That They Do Not Discrimination Against LGBTQ People Anymore

I was going through YouTube when I came across this video by the Salvation Army. It's titled "The Truth Is" and it yet another effort by the Salvation Army to address its reputation as an anti-LGBTQ organization. "The Truth Is" features are variety of LGBTQ individuals who proudly and openly work for the Salvation Army.

Here is the video description:
You deserve to know the truth about The Salvation Army, despite the accusations. The truth is, The Salvation Army does not discriminate against anyone. There isn’t a problem with who you are or who you love. The only thing we concentrate on is meeting the need for those who need it.
In the video, all five of these individuals clearly assert that the Salvos do not discriminate against LGBTQ people and that they have been fully embraced within the organizations.

This isn't the first time that the Salvation Army has put out videos featuring LGBTQ individuals who support the organization -- both as employees and as recipients of the Salvos' works (see here, here, and here).

It's clear that the Salvation Army continues to be hurt financially by the ongoing social media campaign that paints them as an anti-gay religious organization. I mean, they put out just as many videos addressing their anti-gay reputation as they do addressing the support that they offer various communities. It does annoy me that the Salvation Army sometimes acts like there is no basis for their bad reputation, but I do think that there's a need for people to rethink their rejection of the organization over those past misdeeds and seeing how they have adjusted their ministry to become more inclusive.

You can watch the entire video here.
