Disney's new "Onward" animated movie will be released next week and it looks like a look of fun. It tells the tale of two young elves who use a magic staff to bring back their dead father for one day. Except that they accidentally only bring him back halfway and they only have 24 hours to bring him back all of the way.
It turns out that one of the characters -- a purple cyclopian cop named Specter -- will turn out to be a lesbian. According to Slate, the character is being portrayed by openly LGBTQ actor, screenwriter, and producer Lena Waithe.
This is how Officer Specter's outing is described by Slate:

We don’t need to speculate about Waithe’s Office Spector. We know because she tells us. When she and her partner, voiced by Ali Wong, pull over a driver who claims he was distracted because his girlfriend’s sons have been acting up, she commiserates, “My girlfriend’s daughter got me pulling my hair out.”"Onward" will be released on 03/06/20.
