Late last week, Jazz Jennings posted an image of herself on social media in a swimming suit -- and that swimming suit offers a view of scars from her 2018 gender confirmation surgery and secondary surgery.

The message that appears alongside this image reads:

These are my scars on full display in #2019. I'm proud of my scars and love my body just the way it is. I call them my battle wounds because they signify the strength and perseverance it took to finally complete my transition.
