BBC began teasing the new detective inspector's identity back in mid-October with this tweet. They encouraged fans to guess the new actor's identity. A few days later, O'Hanlon's replacement was announced: Ralf Little!
Ralf Little has been acting for over twenty years. He's probably best known for his role as Anthony Royle in "The Royle Family." Interestingly enough, he's already made an appearance back in 2013 on an episode of "Death in Paradise" where he was a suspect for one of the show's many murders.
This time around, Little will be playing DI Neville Parker, who will be reluctantly dispatched to Saint Marie at the very end of the upcoming ninth season to investigate the suspicious death of a woman from his home city of Manchester.
Truth be told, I'm looking forward to the change. I don't hate DI Jack Moody. I'm just not a huge fan.
"Death in Paradise" season nine will make its debut on BBC in January 2020.
