Abbey Winters Battery/Disorderly Conduct Mugshot |
According numerous witnesses, 35-year-old Abbey Leean Winters intentionally poured a glass of soda over AllOnGeorgia reporter Casie Bryant's head. According to witnesses -- and overheard on video -- Winters said that Bryant "deserved it." None of the witnesses identified anything that Bryant did to provoke the assault.
According to Abbey Winters and her husband, Cattooga County Commissioner Jason Winters, she merely stumbled and accidentally poured the soda all over Bryant head. But Jason Winters also said that Bryant "deserved what happened to her."
The night before the budget meeting, Bryant had written on Facebook: "Fresh off his trip to Paris, he (Jason Winter)'s ready to talk about the budget to the PUBLIC."

Abbey Winters was eventually charged with two misdemeanor charges: one count of disorderly conduct and one count of simple battery. She was released on bond.
This isn't the Winters' first brush with controversy. Jason Winters was banned from the Democratic Party back in 2014 after he was repeatedly caught campaigning for Republican statewide candidates.
