Iowa City Police Investigating Early Morning Gunshots

If you were awake this morning at 5:30 AM and if you lived in southeast Iowa City, you might have heard multiple gunshots. Iowa City Police received several reports of gunshots fired at 840 Maggard Street. According to their press release, officers found "multiple items of evidence indicating several shots were fired in and around that apartment building." Fortunately, it doesn't appear that anyone was injured in the shooting.

The ICPD is currently investigating this case and asking residents for any information about this shooting. They are also asking for local security camera footage. Anyone with possible leads can reach the Iowa City Police at 319-356-5276.
