So far, We TV hasn't said too much about the arrests, though they did portray an earlier arrest -- presumably in October 2018 -- of Geno for a probation violation. Friday night, "Mama June: From Not to Hot" began with a special message -- not by Mama June or Alana, but by older sister Pumpkin:
Hey, all! Looking back, I don't know what we could've done differently. Geno getting arrested was a shock to all of us. And he really let us down. We didn't have the full story of what was going on and we couldn't imagine what was coming next. It's been a rough couple of weeks. But we're taking it one day at a time. And we want to thank y'all for always supporting us and backing us up.It was an interesting intro that seemed to focus on Geno's criminal history, while totally glossing over June's recent arrest.
My guess is that they thought that the scenes where everyone -- from Mama June to Pumpkin herself -- getting Geno from jail wearing striped costuming -- would look bad given their more current arrests. And this was a way to acknowledge a problem without actually addressing the problem directly involving the show's title character!
For the record, Mama June isn't done with Geno Doak yet. According to TMZ, she has asked the courts to lift the restraining order that now exists between the two of them -- as well as the domestic violence charge. she told the courts that she is blind and depends on him to keep her safe.
