Iowa City police were called out to a home in Iowa City early Friday morning following a report of an unresponsive woman in that residence. They found a dead woman inside the residence. Not a lot was initially shared by the police, though they reported that it was being treated as a suspicious death.
Earlier this evening, Iowa City police announced the identity of the victim of this suspicious death: 65-year-old Joellen Browning. According to news reports, Browning was the Health Care Director for Operating Budgets at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics.
Browning's death is now being treated as a homicide after receiving preliminary autopsy results, as well as other unspecified details.
