I don't think that I've written about it, but Marvel Studios is working on a new
2020 film called "The Eternals." The
Eternals are a group of godlike characters who've interacted with humanity for thousands of years. They were created by Jack Kirby and some of their members have even fought alongside the Avengers for long periods of time. Sersi, Starfox, Hyperion, and the Forgotten One, for examples. Marvel Studios'"
The Eternals" will focus on Ikaris and Sersi. It's seems like a long-shot project to me. Then again, so did "
Ant-Man" and look how that worked out!
There's a news story circulating that
Marvel Studios is seeking an openly gay actor for a lead role in "
The Eternals." Specifically, they are seeking an
actor of any ethnicity, age 30-49, who physically looks like a superhero.
Of course, everyone is wondering how the mystery gay character is. Starfox makes the most sense to me, though I'm not as familiar with all of the Eternals compared to other Marvel Universe groups. Makkari would also make a fun gay lead. I was a big fan of the character back when he used to hang out with Quasar in the late 80s/early 90s.
