But there was one brief scene that really got me excited! In this issue, we learned that Velma is pregnant with Shaggy's baby!
Ever since the Scooby Gang settled into their new community, most of the main characters have gradually gone through changes. Freddy died and came back from the dead. Velma has become the community's leader. Daphne and Scrappy have become a two-member suicide squad. Shaggy and Velma have become a couple. Scooby has had an upgrade to his computer implants.
And now Velma is pregnant.
As far as I'm aware, this will be the first human baby since the nanite plague transformed humanity into cannibalistic monsters. We already know from Freddy's resurrection that the nanites are still out there causing mischief. What affect will they have on Velma's baby?
Will the nanite cause the pregnancy to come to term quicker? Will the baby be human? Will the baby be born more-than or less-than human? I can't wait to find out!
