There's a story circulating today about one of those drag queen story time events. This one didn't happen at a public library. Instead, it happened at a bookstore called Cellar Door in Riverside, CA. Cellar Door was hosting an event with three drag queens reading Halloween-themed books to children.

There was an undercurrent of negative publicity before the Halloween event, resulting in angry phone call from the public. The bookstore's staff just discouraged those complainers from coming to the program.

During the program, Cellar Door's owner noticed that a woman was video-recording everything. The woman was asked to stop recording, mainly because she hadn't gotten permission from the kids' parents to record them. The woman refused to stop recording the event. Which led several of the parents to ask the woman to knock it off. The woman still refused to stop recording the event. Then a security guard told her to stop. The woman still refused to stop recording the event. Eventually the police arrived and she finally agreed to leave the store.

But the woman -- Genevieve Peters -- vows to return if Cellar Door ever decides to host another event with drag queens. But nothing screams perversion like literary drag queens!
