A group of eight lesbian activists from a group called "Get the L Out" blocked the Pride in London parade from starting on time and then coerced the Pride organizers into allowing them to lead the parade itself with anti-trans signs and chants.
No, I'm not referring to their "Lesbian = Female Homosexual" sign, which gaslighters are using to question why people are reacting negatively.
I'm talking about their "Transactivism Erases Lesbians" sign, as well as their protest fliers that assert that "'queer' LGBT politics is coercing lesbians to have sex with men" and "we condemn any pressure on lesbians -- such as rape and death threats or calling lesbians 'transphobic' if they refuse so-called 'transwomen' as sexual partners."
Get the L Out was allowed to lead the Pride in London parade from start to finish, despite not having permission and despite their display of anti-trans statements and assertions.
This was Pride in London's initial response:
They eventually came out with an expanded statement that actually indicated some acknowledgement that a significant chunk of the LGBTQ communities had been slandered by the group leading their annual Pride parade. Pride in London just wanted people to realize that it was hot and they just wanted everyone to move on so that they could march towards some air conditioning or something like that...
Not that long ago, Pride in London issued a much more comprehensive statement about Get the L Out's anti-trans protest:
In other words, Pride in London disagreed with the protest statement, but couldn't do anything because the police wouldn't do anything.
Which just tells us that anyone can show up at a Pride Parade (or presumably any parade) with any message -- even those insulting and contrary to the message of the parade itself -- and lead that parade without permission. That's good stuff to know for future protests.

Not that long ago, Pride in London issued a much more comprehensive statement about Get the L Out's anti-trans protest:
We are sorry.
Yesterday a group of individuals labelled as “Get The L Out!”, who were not a registered parade group, forced their way to the front of the parade to stand on the rainbow flag. Their behaviour was shocking and disgusting, and we condemn it completely.
The lesbian board members at Pride in London made their anger towards the unsanctioned group clear and our organisation as a whole condemns their actions. The protest group showed a level of bigotry, ignorance and hate that is unacceptable.
We reject what this group stands for. They do not share our values, which are about inclusion and respect and support for the most marginalised parts of our community.
We are proud of our trans volunteers, proud of the trans groups that are in our parade, proud of our trans speakers at events and proud of the trans people who take part in our campaigns and proud of those who cheered even louder for them yesterday.
Sadly, we could not forcibly remove the group as their protest was not a criminal offence. They demanded to march behind the rainbow flag, which marks the official start of our parade. We did not allow that as we did not want to legitimise them or their message.
We moved them to an area far in front of the official parade start to separate them. We are looking at what we could do differently if something like this happens again.Follow this link to read more.
