Two weeks ago, he finally told his girlfriend Shona about the rape. Tonight, after meeting another of Josh's sexual assault victims, David finally decided to take control of this situation and went to the police and told them about being raped by Josh.
He told his story to an investigator. He agreed to go on the record about the sexual assault. He agreed to testify in court about the assault. And he finally agreed to get tested for HIV and other sexually transmitted infections.
And they believed him. At least, they believed him enough to take his report seriously and arrest Josh Tucker.
It was clear that Josh was figuring out that David was on the verge of reporting him to the police. He knew that Shona was investigating his past and digging up his old secrets. He was just about to take off for parts unknown when the police swooped up on his apartment building
Before breaking up with her, Josh admitted that he'd been sexual with David to his ex-girlfriend Alya. He told her that it was consensual, but that David became weird afterwards. He also explained that Shona was jealous about their relationship and that's why she was causing so much trouble for him recently. Basically, he's trying to plant some reasonable doubt right now. Hopefully, Alya is keen enough to disbelieve him. But knowing her, I doubt it.
The important part is that David finally told the police and that they followed up on his accusations. I'm terribly proud of him right now.
