ABC Cancels "Roseanne" Following Bizarre & Racist Twitter Rant by Roseanne Barr

Roseanne Barr killed her show by going on a bizarre and racist Twitter rant early this morning.

First, she tweeted "Muslim Brotherhood & Planet of the Apes had a baby = VJ," which was a reference to Valerie Jerrett.

She then tweeted "Chelsea Soros Clinton... She's married to Soros' nephew."

This prompted a response from Chelsea Clinton: "Good morning Roseanne -- my given middle name is Victoria. I imagine George Soros's nephews are lovely people. I'm just not married to one."

Barr then replied, "Sorry to have tweeted incorrect info about you! Please forgive me! By the way, George Soros is a nazi who turned in his fellow Jews 2 be murdered in German concentration camps & stole their wealth-were you aware of that? But, we all make mistakes, right Chelsea?"

Twitter blew up and Roseanne apologized. She then quit Twitter, which she's done before following similar Twitter rants.

The world continued to react. Wanda Sykes resigned as consulting producer. Sara Gilbert stated that Barr's Tweets are "abhorrent and do not reflect the beliefs of our cast and crew or anyone associated with our show."

Now ABC Entertainment has announced that "Roseanne" has been canceled and will not return for it's second season. I anticipate that Roseanne Barr's Twitter account will be resurrected soon.


This is unfortunate. I really enjoyed "Roseanne" and I'm sorry to see it go. But this isn't new behavior for Roseanne Barr. ABC should have seen this coming.
