Jazz Jennings Gets a Special Birthday Tattoo!

Jazz Jennings recently began dating a girl named Victoria on her reality TV show, "I Am Jazz." At least, they have been on a handful of group dates. The two appear to get along with each other and have similar senses of humor. But it's still pretty awkward between the two of them. Partially because Jazz doesn't have much of a dating history, but also partially because there's this camera crew following them around on their dates, which is the ultimate chaperone!

I was watching this clip from a recent episode of the program. I didn't think that I'd missed anything recently, but I really don't remember this scene. Jazz goes to a tattoo parlor with one of her friends and ends up getting surprised by Victoria. It turns out that Victoria conspired with Jazz's parents to get a tattoo for her birthday -- presumably her 17th birthday.


Jazz decides to get a mermaid tattoo, which has been a personal obsession for most of her life. From her earliest years, Jazz has told people that she has a girl brain in a boy body. She associates with the mermaid, because a mermaid "doesn't have anything down there."
