We've been promised that the Archies will encounter real-life bands. And we've been learning about these bands in recent weeks. For example, CHVRCHES will appear in THE ARCHIES #2 & 3 next month and in December. Keep in mind that I have no idea who CHVRCHES is, but Husband Mark is familiar with them and says that they're pretty good stuff so there's that. CHVRCHES' appearance in issue #2 will only be a cameo, but we can expect a lot out of the band when they get upgraded to guest stars status in issue #3.
It looks like the band will be experiencing some growing pains during the first stage of their tour, so maybe CHVRCHES will rally the Archies and get them back on the straight and narrow!
But I was a little surprised to learn the identity of the second real-life band to appear in THE ARCHIES -- none other than 60's sugar band, the Monkees! That's right, the Riverdale Gang will meet up with Peter, Mickey, Michael, and Davy in THE ARCHIES #4 in January 2018, apparently the results of some time travel craziness!
