Earlier this week, I picked up MOON GIRL AND DEVIL DINOSAUR #23. This wraps up a fun space-based story involving Ego the Living Planet's daughter, Illa the Girl-Moon! Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur travel back to Earth, but (for reasons that I really don't need to go into here on the blog) end up in the distant past just before the Killer-Folk killed Moon Boy and before Devil Dinosaur traveled to modern-day New York City!
This offers Devil Dinosaur the opportunity to jump in and save Moon Boy from the Killer-Folk! Which means that Moon Boy isn't dead anymore!!
This offers Lunella the unique opportunity to give Devil back his home and former best friend.
Which I'm sure is a mixed blessing for Moon Girl. She's the world's smartest person and she's been shackled with the responsibility of caring for a T-Rex in one of America's biggest cities. And despite her protests, Lunella really loves Devil Dinosaur. And the feeling is mutual. So this is a major sacrifice for our young hero.
Of course, there's the fact that Lunella is a young Inhuman whose power is to mentally switch places with Devil Dinosaur. What does their separation mean for her powers? Will they continue to mind-swap across time? Will their separation cause harm to the two of them?
Somehow I don't think we've seen the end of Devil Dinosaur from this comic book -- though I'm glad to count Moon Boy back among the living!
