Iowa's Gov. Branstad: "I Declare April 7 to be Harlem Globetrotter Day!"

Gov. Terry Branstad and Lt. Gov. Kim Reynolds were visited at the Iowa Statehouse by Hammer Harrison of the Harlem Globetrotters earlier today. In honor of the team's anti-bullying message and efforts, Gov. Branstad signed a proclamation declaring April 7, 2013, as Harlem Globetrotter Day here in Iowa.

The Globetrotters will be making a variety of appearances here in Iowa during the next week. They will be playing for the students at Christ the King Elementary School in Des Moines tomorrow. They will then appear in Sioux City on Wednesday, Des Moines on Sunday, Fort Dodge on April 9th, and Cedar Falls on April 10th.
