Remember earlier this summer when a 33-year-old guy from California named David LaVera tricked a bunch of people -- including school officials -- into thinking he was an actor from the "Twilight" movies? He was allowed to demonstrate his acting and stunt abilities at the elementary and high schools in Newton, IA, before getting arrested and charged with all sorts of stuff such as enticing a minor and carrying a weapon.
Earlier this week, the Newton School Board approved new procedures for admitting guests to any of their schools. Under the revised policy,
everyone will be required to show a photo ID when visiting the schools. Those photo IDs will be
photocopied and kept on file at the school.
