I'm still wrapping my head around this story. A 33-year-old guy named David A. LaVera was arrested in Newton, IA, earlier this week and was charged with enticing a minor, carrying weapons, and failure to have a valid driver's license. Basically, he got in trouble for luring young teenage girls into his car and touching them inappropriately.
But the odd part is that he appears to have convinced these girls and their parents -- and local school officials -- that he is a Hollywood stuntman and an actor from the "Twilight" movies.
More specifically, LaVera convinced everyone that he was actor Kiowa Gordon. LaVera befriended one of the girls on Facebook and then traveled to Iowa from San Diego to see her. He appeared at two Iowa schools, where he performed a variety of stunts and signed autographs as Kiowa Gordon. He was even allowed to attend a school-sponsored eighth-grade pool party.
Kiowa Gordon is understandably very upset that somebody essentially catfished others with his identity:

(David LaVera // Kiowa Gordon -- Do you see much of a resemblance?) |

I am deeply saddened that there is a person out there trying to impersonate me and do harm to young girls... My heart goes out to their families and anyone else who has been deceived or hurt by his actions.David LaVera is currently being held in the Jasper County Jail on a $50,000 bond and is scheduled to appear this coming Monday in court.
