Bob Vander Plaats of the FAMiLY Leader released the following video recap of 2012, highlighting the past year's wins and losses:

1. We endorsed Rick Santorum as the eventual Iowa Caucus leader! -- Even if he eventually lost steam and got replaced by Mitt Romney.

2. We pushed for a human trafficking bill! -- Though you'd have never known it if we hadn't brought it up at the end of the year.

3. We organized an anti-marriage equality rally in Des Moines!

4. We held a FAMiLY leadership summit!

But...

1. Despite our efforts, neither our guy Rick Santorum nor the actual GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney actually won the presidential campaign. President Barack Obama is still the President of the United States of America.

2. Despite our efforts, the Democratic Party still controls the Iowa Senate -- by a larger margin than before.

3. Despite our efforts, Iowa Senate majority leader Mike Gronstal was re-elected.

4. Despite our efforts, Justice David Wiggins retained his seat on the Iowa Supreme Court.

In 2013, BVP and his cohorts will continue fighting against gay families and our marriages (and apparently human trafficking). Of course, they need your financial support to accomplish this goal, so visit their web-page and help out.

Or...

Chill out a bit and learn how to coexist with Iowans whose families might not resemble your own. After nearly four years of gay marriage, surely you can see that Iowa with marriage equality is no worse off than Iowa without it.
