Most families spent Christmas Eve watching television specials, opening presents, or attending Christmas Eve candlelight services. But one Iowa City family found themselves experiencing a more unique Christmas Eve.
Iowa City Police were called to a family disturbance late last night and ended up arresting 53-year-old Henry Brown for allegedly cutting his stepdaughter. According to KCJJ News, Brown and his stepdaughter got into a heated argument that became heated. He claimed that his stepdaughter threatened him with a liquor bottle, which prompted him to grab the knife and stab her.
News reports claim that the stepdaughter and witnesses dispute Brown's version of events, instead asserting that the stepdaughter only armed herself with the liquor bottle after she got cut by Brown's knife.
Brown was arrested last night and charged with Assault Using or Displaying a Weapon and faces a maximum of two years in prison if convicted.
