The following image showed up today on Bleeding Cool that suggests that Marvel Comics'Watcher will end up murdered in May 2014.
I remember the first time that the Watchers began dying back in the 1980s in QUASAR #15-16. The Watchers are these big-headed aliens that watch over everything all of the time. Earth's Watcher often shows up prior to super-important events. However, all of the Watchers have sworn an oath of noninterference so even though they're there to watch major events, they can't actually help during these major events.
Anyway, back in QUASAR, hundreds of Watchers were succumbing to some mysterious plague. Turns out that they had something called the "Oblivion Plague." Essentially, they created this internal feedback meme in their heads. They were sworn to non-interference and yet their mere presence was an act of interference! I don't remember the details for how exactly Quasar turned that one around, but the Watchers were able to turn around their deaths by the end of that story.
In other words, it's hard to kill the Watcher and make it stick. But it should be an interesting tale!
