The herd was on Interstate 380 just south of Highway 20 when one of the cows got smacked by a semitrailer. A second semitrailer struck two additional cows, which led to it crossing into the median, rolling onto its side and sliding into the Interstate's northbound lanes. This resulted in a car crashing into the second semitrailer.
Two of the drivers involved (presumably the second semi driver and the driver of the car) received minor injuries. The three cows did not survive.
