KCII Radio reported earlier today that a privately organized Rainbow Run will be held at Sunset Park in Washington, IA, starting at noon.

Hello all! To promote our LOVE and to help spread our LOVE for the LGBTQ+ community, I wanted to put together a group to do a rainbow run on June 28th, 2020.The Rainbow Run is a free gathering and people can either walk or run. People are being encouraged to wear white. The organizers have some sort of colorful power paint that we somehow be splattered on participants, resulting in a rainbow of color.
It's being billed as a family friendly event. Various games, crafts, and even karaoke events are being organized.
The organizers noted that COVID-19 protocols will be observed and anyone with any COVID-19 symptoms are being told to stay home. Oh, and there's a 30% chance of rain. We're being told that the Rainbow Run will be canceled if it rains.
I could be wrong, but I think this is Washington's first LGBTQ Pride event ever. I will be anxious to see how it goes!
