I was looking around for updates on this story (Hint: There are none...), when I discovered another police-involved Star Wars situation from last month.
According to this news article, a motorist from Adelaide, South Australia, got pulled over and issued a $750 fine. All because he placed a Star Wars-theme sticker on his license plate.
The motorist's Stormtrooper sticker is pretty small, so he didn't think that it was a big deal. However, he was told that he had defaced the number plate. He was then given the $750 fine and a defect notice. The driver feels that he could easily remove the sticker, but the police reportedly said that he was in violation of Australia's Motor Vehicles Act.
In case you're curious, $750 Australian dollars are the equivalent of $514 US dollars (at least, as of this day).
