I'm a little late to the game, but there are indications that "Return to Amish" will be returning for a sixth season sometime later this year.
A fan recently kept asking "Return to Amish" TV personality Jeremiah Raber about the status of the program: "I keep seeing people asking if the show is coming back on and... never an answer. Making me start to wonder why I should even follow him."
Which resulted in a terse response from Raber: "It's because I can't answer it due to contract." Which implies that there is a contract, which implies that a sixth season is in the works.
Speaking of Raber, I subscribe to his YouTube page. Have no doubt that I miss more of his content than what I watch. But I suddenly realized that Raber is starting to do a bunch of these "catch of child predator" sting videos on his YouTube page. In this video, for example, they confronted a 34-year-old guy in Denver, CO, after posing as a 15-year-old girl. And this other guy in Denver, CO. And this guy in Tulsa, OK. And this other guy in Lake City, FL. And this latest guy in Vancouver, WA.
In the final video, Raber and his friends chased a guy around Vancouver while trying to interview him and while waiting for the cops to arrive. Of course, Washington is a two-party consent state for video recording which allowed the guy to duck out on them in a store long enough for Raber and his friends to turn off their equipment. Reportedly, the police showed up afterwards but let the guy go because there wasn't actually a victim.
