HOUSE OF X / POWERS OF X: Who Are the Quiet Council of Krakoa? (Spoilers)

Have you been reading Marvel Comics' HOUSE OF X and POWERS OF X comic book series? It's an interesting macro story reminiscent of the old Grant Morrison NEW X-MEN run. In it, the mutants have found their population soaring again. Their sense of evolutionary superiority has returned. And the mutants have created a new homeland.

Of course, their previous homeland didn't work out too good in the past. Genosha's entire population of 16,000,000 inhabitants were all wiped out during a Sentinel raid

But this mutant homeland is different. It's Krakoa, the mutant island. Over the past decade, Charles Xavier, Magneto, and Moira MacTaggert have planned for an advanced society on Krakoa. They recruited Cypher to build up a complex language that can be telepathically implanted into the minds of all mutants. And they strategically planted Krakoan seeds around the planet, on the Moon, and on Mars that all link to Krakoa's central mass. Any mutant can enter Krakoa, but no human can enter unless specifically permitted by Krakoa itself.


And it's not just the X-Men who are settling Krakoa. All mutants have been invited and welcomed to Krakoa -- including Earth's most villainous killers.

POWERS OF X #5 introduced the idea of a 12-person Krakoan government council. Four representatives are already known: Professor X, Magneto, Emma Frost, and Sabastian Shaw. Plus, two other representatives appear to be with the council, but apart from the council: Cypher and Krakoa itself.

Which got me wondering about the identities of the other Krakoan Quiet Council. I had a few early predictions for the other Council members, including Moira MacTaggert, Destiny, and Cyclops. Turns out that I was wrong about those council members, if this article is correct. But some other potential members of mine -- particularly Marvel Girl, Kitty Pryde, Storm, and Apocalypse -- actually did make the list, if that same website is to be believed.

It appears that Autumn is represented by founders, Winter is represented by elders, Spring is represented by the Hellfire Club and its economy, Summer is represented by the future mutant leaders, and Krakoa is represented by Krakoa itself. And most (if not all) of these mutants appear to be Omega Mutants.
