But it wasn't just my LGBTQ international friends who celebrated LGBTQ pride this weekend. Many of the fun folks associated with "Coronation Street" glittered themselves up and rode around on a giant float.
In fact, one of my online friends posted a pic of himself with Bhavna Jayanty Limbachia (AKA Rana from "Corrie"). Which was actually really cool. And it once again made me jealous for those British folks who never fail to bump into television celebrities pretty much any time they head into town -- and they post pics to prove it!
More recently, I was on Google and a Pride-related article popped up involving "Corrie" actor Antony Cotton (AKA Sean). He was on the "Corrie" float when he noticed a pack of Christian protesters in the back of a crowd and their huge signs. So he impulsively decided to do something about it -- much to the delight of the Manchester Pride crowds!
Cotton jumped off of his float carrying this Pride flag that was posted on a really long flag-pole. He then ran over and began whacking the protesters' anti-gay signs with his Pride flag. Not enough to cause any damage. Just enough to excite his fans.
