Did I ever mention that I was college friends with one of the hosts of “Good Morning Nepal?” His name is Sameer Dixit and he’s the man with the mustache in the pic below. I reconnected with him via Facebook and Twitter a few years ago and knew that he got into medicine and AIDS research. And he later got involved with a movie project. And then suddenly I became aware of his work on “Good Morning Nepal.”
Of course, I can’t understand half of the programming on the channel (which shows up on YouTube). The programming is a mix of Nepalese, English, and sometimes some other languages. The hosts will hop back and forth between the languages, but I’m largely in the dark because I only speak English.
But I follow their YouTube channel because they do occasionally have guests on who only speak English and those segments are almost completely in English. And there are a few other programs without Sameer that are also almost completely in English. I really want to travel the world a bit and Nepal would definitely be one of my stops. The main thing holding me back in money. Sameer told me that he’d bring me to the studio if I ever made my way there, which would be a lot of fun. I might even get to appear on TV.
Yesterday, Sameer posted this new promo video for "Good Morning Nepal" on his Facebook page. It's (mostly) in English and I thought it was pretty funny. And it was very good quality. You should check it out when you get a chance.
How about you? Any high school or college friends who've become famous in their adult years? Tell me about it in the comments section below!
