Fans Treated to Images of Same-Sex Families in Official Trailer for New Animated "The Addams Familiy" Movie!

The trailer for "The Addams Family" animated movie dropped a few days ago -- and it looks like a lot of fun! I'm a big fan of the old "Addams Family" TV show and a huge fan of the "Addams Family" movies from the early 90s, so it's all but a given that I'll watch this movie when it's released in the fall.

But it's the trailer's intro that's got me really excited check this out:

This is an average American family. And so is this. And so are these.

Every family is different, but some families are more different than others.

You need to watch the trailer, but it starts with a conventional sketching of a white heterosexual family. It shifts to a black family. But then it shifts to an image of a two-dad family (with a disabled daughter, no less). And then it shifts to a multi-racial two-mom family. And then several other family types before highlighting one of the most different families of all: The Addams Family!
It's always a fun surprise when same-sex families show up in commercials or children's programming. And it happens enough anymore that it's not as newsworthy when examples crop up -- which is great in and of itself!
