(Originally written on 10/20/18): I finally finished watching the second season of "Iron Fist" on Netflix. It's not that it was a bad series. It was actually very good. In fact, it was a great improvement on the first season. It's just that Husband Mark actually likes this show also. So I can't just binge-watch the series on my own. We have to coordinate work schedules in order to see the whole thing.
Season Two ended in a really weird spot. Colleen Wing had claimed the power of the Iron Fist was was now defending the streets of New York City with a glowing sword. Meanwhile, Danny Rand was finding himself (along with his spiritual brother Ward) all over Asia. And he now apparently has the power of the Iron Fist also -- though he's using it to power-up pistols!
The season ended on a cliffhanger. And it was a glorious cliffhanger.
Unfortunately, it's a cliffhanger to nowhere. Netflix cancelled "Iron Fist." Maybe this will get picked up elsewhere. Sadly, I doubt that we'll ever see that pick up.
Not only did Netflix cancele "Iron Fist," but it just canceled the much better -- and arguably best Marvel series that they've created -- series. That's right. "Luke Cage" has been canceled.
We will never get to see what becomes of Luke Cage, now that he's transitioned from being the hero of Harlem to Harlem's iron-fisted protector. Which is a real shame.
"Daredevil" Season Three just dropped on Netflix. (Jon's Note: We likely won't see any of this new season until mid-November. Just putting that out there!) A new season of "Jessica Jones" will be coming soon. No clue about "The Punisher." I'm just curious if these two cancellations are the start of something sad with Marvel's streaming series.
Updated on 11/08/18: The question came up earlier today in the comments: Why were they canceled? It appears significant viewership declines caused the cancellations of both "Luke Cage" and "Iron Fist."According to CBR, "Luke Cage" season 2 lost 59% of its viewing numbers from its first season and "Iron Fist" lost 64% of its viewing numbers from its first season.
So if you like "Daredevil," make sure that you watch "Daredevil" season 3 soon. And make sure that you tweet about it. Because "Daredevil season 4 isn't assured.

Updated on 02/18/19: I learned some sad, if not unexpected, news that the final two Marvel shows have been canceled by Netflix.
"Punisher" has been canceled following its second season and "Jessica Jones" will not be renewed following its upcoming third season.
I haven't yet watched the latest "Punisher" series, though it's on "my list." Meanwhile, the final season of "Jessica Jones" will be released later this year.

Updated on 11/28/18: I learned today that Netflix has canceled "Daredevil":
“Marvel’s Daredevil will not return for a fourth season on Netflix,” the streamer said in a statement tonight to Deadline. “We are tremendously proud of the show’s last and final season and although it’s painful for the fans, we feel it best to close this chapter on a high note.””We’re thankful to our partners at Marvel, showrunner Erik Oleson, the show’s writers, stellar crew and incredible cast including Charlie Cox as Daredevil himself, and we’re grateful to the fans who have supported the show over the years,” Netflix added just a month after the third season of the series launched on the service.I feel guilty because I still haven't watched "Daredevil" season 3. There were indications through from this article that this decision might be bigger that ratings. After all, Disney+ will be airing several Marvel Comics related programs on the new streaming service. Plus, it's just expensive to make these superhero shows. Most likely, it's just not as financially advantageous for Netflix to continue with these shows.
