It's Super Bowl Sunday, which means that it's also time for "Puppy Bowl XV" on Animal Planet. This is a football-themed romp featuring adorable puppies who run around and play with each other for two hours. I used to love watching the "Puppy Bowl" every year, but my enthusiasm has dipped as the show has increasingly relied on product placements, gimmicks, and social media interruptions.

In the past, "Puppy Bowl" has featured rescue puppies from central Iowa, specifically AHeinz57 Pet Rescue and Transport shelter in De Soto, IA. (Jon's Note: You might want to wait a day or two before checking out their website. It appears to have crashed at the moment!) Four pups from that pet rescue, for example, were featured on the program in 2017.
This year, "Puppy Bowl XV" will feature rescue dogs from AHeinz57 again -- eleven to be exact! Check out these cuties!!:
Here are the puppies from top to bottom: Kitsy (19 week old Shiba Inu), Buckalew (13 week old chiweenie), Dexter (18 week old German shepherd mix), Horton (13 week old American Staffordshire terrier mix -- so don't adopt him if you live in Forest City!), Elara (19 week old Pit/boxer mix), Jessie (19 week old hound mix), Koda (18 week old German Shepherd mix), Lovey (12 week old border collie/beagle mix), Peanut (15 week old Australian shepherd mix), Watch (19 week old hound mix), and Dodger (18 week old German shepherd mix).
Most likely, all of these puppies have been adopted, or will be by this time tomorrow.
"Puppy Bowl XV" will begin airing on Animal Planet in about five minutes.
