(Originally written on 11/13/18): Remember when anti-gay culture warrior Paul Dorr checkout our four LGBTQ-themed children's books from the Orange County Public Library and then burned all of them while live-streaming on Facebook? He did this on the eve of Orange City's second annual OC Pride event as a form of anti-gay protest. And remember how the Orange City Public Library was still trying to figure out what to do about it a week later?
I got to wondering about Paul Dorr yesterday and began googling to see if anything new had been reported. Nothing specifically new about Dorr. But then it occurred to me to check out Iowa Courts Online. Looks like Paul Dorr was charged with 5th Degree Criminal Mischief late last week.
5th degree criminal mischief is a simple misdemeanor in the state of Iowa. If convicted, Dorr faces up to 30 days in jail and/or a fine of $65-625.
Updated on 12/07/18: The Sioux City Journal reports that an initial court appearance has been scheduled for 01/22/19 at the Sioux County Courthouse in Orange City.
Updated on 01/22/19: The Sioux City Journal reports that Paul Dorr filed a not guilty plea to this charge on Saturday. A trial date hasn't yet been set. According to this source, he is still seeking an attorney.
