Freddy Jones Rises from the Dead in SCOOBY APOCALYPSE #29

I wrote several months ago about Freddy Jones proposing to Daphne Blake in the pages of SCOOBY APOCALYPSE -- and then subsequently killed off in SCOOBY APOCALYPSE #25! Freddy's body subsequently disappeared before his friends could bury the body, presumably taken away by monsters and consumed elsewhere.

The truth was much darker, as seen in SCOOBY APOCALYPSE #29. After Daphne left Freddy's body and sought support from their friends, Freddy woke from the dead and stumbled out into the streets. He rambled through Albany, NY, and occasionally feasted on the bodies of random monsters.

Meanwhile, the Scooby Gang continued to build up their new base of operations, gradually building up a small society of human survivors. Velma Dinkley is the leader of the community. Shaggy Rogers is her right-hand man. Scooby has a new friend named Cliffy. And Daphne is in a deep depression -- going off on daily suicidal missions into the community to fight back against the never-ending swarm of monsters.

Except nowadays, Daphne isn't hunting alone. Scrappy has returned to the group and has taken a shining to Daphne and her hunts. She fought this partnership at first, but finally accepted their strange partnership towards the end of this week's issue.

But back to Undead Fred... After months of rambling, Freddy finally rambled into members of the Scooby Society. Unnerved by the silent and bloody man, the people shoot Freddy and leave him for dead (again).

But Freddy gets up again after they drive off. He rambles over and feasts on another monster. He then seemingly begins collecting other monsters from the area and finally speaks.

Not good...

It does make you wonder what happens to the people who didn't get turned into monsters by Velma's nanite plague. Do all people come back from the dead? If so, that's pretty frightening stuff!
