Apparently, Whitney is thinking about adopting a baby. And she's decided that she wants to "co-parent" (sort of) the baby with her gay best friend, Tal! I say "sort of" because she really wants him to live in her home and help care for the kid like an unpaid nanny and maintain no rights to the child.
Anyway, I got really curious about Whitney and her adoption plans so I decided to check out the entire season finale where this is all discussed. It turns out that not all of Whitney's friends and family are as enamored with her adoption plans as she is.
For example, here are some actual quotes from her friend and dance partner, Todd:
And her parents are parents aren't having it at all when she finally breaks the news about her adoption plans. It looks like this might be the focus of next season.
I'm still not sure how this "co-parenting" plan will work out. She's completely planning on doing it with Tal, which makes me think that he'll actually be adopting with her. If he's smart and if he truly wants to be a co-parent with this baby, then he really should insist on it.
Incidentally, there was a scene in the final episode where Whitney and Todd taught dance to a crowd of "big girls." It looked like a lot of fun!! I really wish that they would come to Iowa City because I would totally be there!
