Lynn and Jazz
Jazz Jennings continues to go through her transition process within her reality TV show, "I Am Jazz." She's been struggling with her weight all season so that she can get approved for her bottom surgery. But she's also been spending a lot of time with her trans friends this season. All of Jazz's trans friends are FTM teens in varying stages of transition.

There is Lynn, who is transitioning without any support from her family. She recently came out to her employer. And then there is Noelle. She has appeared in the friend a few times over the past two years. She's different from Jazz in that she began transitioning from male to female after puberty so that it's more difficult for her to pass (for lack of better word). But it's been really great to watch her go through the steps of fully transitioning and I really like their friendship. And lastly, there is Jojo. Jojo is a newer friend of Jazz. She began transitioning about two years ago. She met Jazz and the others at a recent mixer and hit it off with the group.

During this particular clip, Lynn told Jazz and the others about the difficulties that she was encountering with buying hormones to assist with her transition process. She isn't getting any support from her family and is basically scraping by with whatever she can set aside from her wages.

Jazz decides to organize a car wash fundraiser to purchase hormones to Lynn. They set a $1000 goal, which they didn't achieve -- though they were close! It didn't help that all of their parents (minus Lynn's) showed up with hefty donations.

Some jerk showed up at one time and began challenging the whole transgender identity thing. I'm cynical enough that I left that moment wondering if that moment was a set-up by the "I Am Jazz" production team. Still, it was a good opportunity for Jazz and stand up for herself and her friends, and also to realize when it's time to stop debating and to disengage from haters.

Check out this clip to learn more about Jazz's trans friends.
