It appears that BETTY & VERONICA FRIENDS FOREVER will be a monthly title. Each issue will have a theme. For example, Issue #1 will have an "At the Movies" theme. The issue will be split into a variety of five-page all-ages stories that focus on that issue's theme.
I'm actually quite excited about this new comic book. Archie Comics has been experimenting with their "New Riverdale" relaunch over the past few years, with upcoming character designs and more complex story arcs. And I like the new ARCHIE title.
But I've always felt that Archie Comics could publish titles featuring "Classic Archie" stories alongside its "New Riverdeale" titles and that its readership would adapt.
Plus, I know that there is a vocal group of "Classic Archie" loyalists out there who have never liked Archie's new style and who absolutely hate CW's "Riverdale." It sounds like BETTY & VERONICA FRIENDS FOREVER is the title for them! But they need to buy this book every month or else this new ongoing title will suddenly find itself tossed in the cancellation pile!
