Things Are Finally Getting Interesting as Kate & Rana's Sapphic Secret is Revealed to Husband Zeedan on "Coronation Street!"

Keep in mind that I'm a new "Corrie" fan, but this is what I know. Sometime late last year, local lesbian Kate somehow ended up kissing a Muslim woman named Rana. This wouldn't have been a huge deal except that Rana was religiously married and civilly engaged to a man named Zeedan. 

Kate and Rana were excruciatingly obsessed with each other, to the point of boredom. Rana would hid from Kate so that she could get married to Zeedan. Then on the eve of the wedding, Rana began texting Kate with professions of love with wild abandon. Then after the honeymoon, Kate and Rana ended up making love in the back of a food wagon (no joke). And then they spent the next month searching for new secret places to fool around.

Kate finally decided that it was time to break things off after one of their friends was murdered. She sternly told Rana that it was over and that it was unfair of her married lover to continue pulling her back into her arms.

Then following one final argument between Kate and Rana, it all came to a head when Rana finally confessed to Zeedan that she's in love with somebody else:


Rana kept it all gender-neutral, so Zee assumed that she was talking about having an affair with another man. After kicking Rana out of the house, Zeedan began threatening physical violence towards all of the men in his life. Which pushed Kate into confessing her own secret:


This blew his mind, but not as much as learning that his former bosses also knew about the affair. It really wasn't a good day for Zeedan!


Zeedan later reclaimed his wedding ring and officially cast Rana out of his life, leaving her sobbing in front of their house.


I have no clue where this story is heading, but I'm really glad that we're going somewhere with this Kate/Rana romance. I was bored with its premise back in December. I understand Rana feeling trapped between her commitment to Zeedan and her attraction to Kate. Then again, she got married to Zee while flirting around with Kate. And then moaned about it over and over and over.

Here's an official Jon's Blog Tip: If you're moaning over one person while working on wedding details for another person, it's probably a good sign for you to take a break from both people!

I think it would be interesting to see Kate and Rana as a couple now that their affair is out in the open. Will it seem as exciting when everyone knows about their lady love and while Rana's ex-husband is scowling around random corners? Probably not. But it's gotta be better than the two of them sneaking smooches when nobody else is looking!
