Marvel Comics' Jubilee Cured of Being a Vampire!!

I've been a fan of Marvel Comics'GENERATION X comic book. It features former Generation X team members Jubilee, Chamber, and Husk as they teach Xavier School's less impressive students: Bling!, Quentin Quire, Nature Girl, Morph, Hindsight, and Eye-Boy. It's basically Xavier School's GSA with one hetero pairing just for the fun of it! I really like the book, but not enough others do. As a result, the book is scheduled to be canceled in an issue or two.

But that's not why I'm writing. I was catching up with some of this week's comic books tonight, which included GENERATION X #86. It ends on the most wonderful note!

Once upon a time, Jubilee got de-powered as a result of Scarlet Witch's "decimation" spell. She then got caught up in a war between Marvel Comics' mutants and vampires, which resulted in Jubilee turning into a vampire. And I really, really, really hate that Jubilee is a vampire.


In recent months, former Generation X member M got merged with her vamiric brother Emplate. This merged creature now runs around feeding on the life energies of other mutants. Jubilee and M get into a fight, which results in Jubilee getting tossed outside under the sun. And you know how badly vampires respond to sunlight! Quentin Quire uses his Phoenix powers to not only save Jubilee from burning alive, by transforming her back into human. Not only that, but Jubilee's mutant powers have been restored also!

So I'm unhappy that GENERATION X is going away. And I'm unhappy we likely won't see much of these mutant underdog characters again. But I'm really, really, really happy that Jubilee is a non-vampiric mutant character with fire cracker powers once again!!
