I continue to enjoy Archie Comics' new JUGHEAD: THE HUNGER comic book series. Issue #2 follows up where we left off in the previous issue. That issue ended with Jughead seemingly waking from a lycathropic romp next to the bloodied body of some carny.
Now everyone is after Jughead... Betty the Werewolf Hunter, Archie, Betty's cousin Bo, all of the carnies, and all of the local police... And I'm not even sure that Jughead is the killer at this point!
In this issue, Jughead was nearly captured by some local cops when another werewolf with Wolverine-like claws showed up to save the day! The werewolf in question? Bingo Wilkins!
That's right! Reports that That Wilkin Boy had been killed by the Riverdale Ripper were extremely exaggerated back in the series' one-shot pilot issue.
I'll be glad to see Bingo Wilkins on a regularly basis in this book. That Wilkin Boy was a great character in a great comic book and really doesn't deserve to languish in comic book limbo. Surely, his prospects for showing up in a future "Riverdale" story line or (perish the thought!!) his own "That Wilkins Boy" sister series increases each time he shows up in one of the comic books!
"Run Like a Wolf" Part 2 features storytelling by Frank Tieri, artwork by Pat & Tim Kennedy and Joe Eisma, inks by Bob Smith, coloring by Matt Herms, and lettering by Jack Morelli.
