Have you seen "Field of Dreams?" Everyone has, right? Well, I haven't. But it's one of most popular movies out there about Iowa. I just saw a great news story about a real life "Field of Dreams" near Iowa Falls, IA.
Two years ago, Eric Hanson took advantage of a weekend alone and built a baseball field one his farm property. He wanted to create a sporting option for his sons and the neighboring farm kids.
Hanson claims that he wasn't inspired by the movie, but instead dreamed of offering his children a unique opportunity to have fun with their friends. According to the news article, it cost $800 for the fencing and bases. But it's completely worth it, judging from their excitement.
