There's this news article circulating about an incident at a Walmart parking lot in Ashville, NC. A guy was allegedly caught rifling through a purse that was left in a woman's car. He was confronted by the woman (who's apparently pregnant, but whatever) and some guys. She chased him briefly before returning to her SUV and chasing after the guy. She then hit the man with her vehicle:
The guy ended up being treated on the scene for injuries. It was clear that he was injured and in pain and eventually needed to be hospitalized. According to news reports, the man was "treated for minor injuries."
It doesn't appear that the woman was arrested or charged for hitting the man with her vehicle. She was quite vocal and unapologetic about her actions. Maybe charges are pending. I haven't seen anything that indicates that.
However, people are having a field day with this story on social media. The woman is being treated as a hero. After all, he tried stealing a few bucks from her. But she sent him to the hospital with possible injuries to last him a lifetime, right?
One guy commented, "Great job lady... Back up and hit him again save the tax payers some money!!" I actually responded to that guy: "And then she'll end up in prison and cost the tax payers much more money."
It's days like this that I'm reminded about how I really don't relate to people anymore...
"Me being five months pregnant, I chased him a little ways and then come back, jumped in the car, threw it in gear, come across the cub and run him over. I was not letting him get away with it, it's not right, it's not fair," she said.
