Kim Burrell is a gospel singer. She is featured on the soundtrack to "Hidden Figures," an inspiring movie focusing "on a group of incredible Black women who strive to make change and spread positivity along that journey." She did this big preaching gig last night and a two-minute snippet immediately went viral where she lashed out against gay and lesbian Christians and how we are perverted sinners who need to be confronted.

You can watch the video here. The audio is not the best. Here is a partial transcript from the video:
I came to tell you about sin... That sin nature... That perverted homosexual spirit, and the spirit of delusion and confusion, it has deceived many men and women... You as a man, you open your mouth and take a man's penis in your face, you are perverted. You are a woman and will shake your face in another woman's breast, you are perverted.
Burrell quickly took to social media and attempted to make things better by complaining that she loves gay people. She just hates sin:
We're not in a war against flesh and blood... I came on because I care about God's creation and every person from the LGBT and anything else, any other kind of thing that is supporting gay... I never said LGBT last night. I said S-I-N and whatever else falls in the sin was preached.
She wants you to know that gay and lesbian should not take her sermon personally. Because she doesn't know us personally. But she did manage to pull out this old anti-gay trope:
To every person that is dealing with the homosexual spirit -- that has it -- I love you, 'cause God loves you! But God hates the sin.
The big story hook is that Burrell is scheduled to appear on the "Ellen Degeneres Show" late this week. I'm curious if Ellen will bring up the current controversy or if it will be ignored.

Incidentally, Burrell went on a second Facebook Live response where she pulled out that "Christians own the rainbow" trope:
And all of you that are sending rainbows, read what God really sent the rainbow for. Okay?
