I love it when Archie Comics grabs hold of a current fad and runs with it. BETTY & VERONICA JUMBO COMICS DIGEST #247 has one of those moments. Mr. Lodge has discovered the joy of adult coloring books -- and the peace and tranquility that comes from that recreational activity!
It turns out that coloring relaxes adults and relieves stress. That means that Archie can come to Lodge Mansion and cause all sorts of trouble and Mr. Lodge barely reacts!
Betty learns about adult coloring books and decides to introduce the fad to the teens at Riverdale High by commissioning Chuck to create all sorts of black and white drawings that will be included in the school newspaper.
The end result is that Riverdale High is now one of the most zen school in America!
Of course, nothing last forever. Archie ends up breaking the peace -- without even trying! I won't spoil how it happens, but it's definitely worth checking out!
"The Coloring Craze" features story & pencils by Dan Parent, inks by Bob Smith, letters by Jack Morelli, and colors by Glenn Whitmore.
